RouteConverter on Android and tablets
RouteConverter is a desktop program for Windows, macOS and Linux. There is no Android or iOS app and it does not install on an Android phone or tablet. The project author gave the reasons in the forum: Android's Java is not the Java RouteConverter needs, the Swing user interface and the embedded map would have to be rewritten, and gpsbabel would have to be built for Android.
What works instead
- Convert on a computer. Open the file in RouteConverter and save it in the format your phone app or navigation device reads. See Getting started, the format list and the conversion pages.
- Copy the file to the device. Use a USB cable, an SD card or any file transfer you already use. Forum users moved GPX files to a navigation device from a tablet over USB or SD card.
- Open it in your phone app. Which formats it accepts depends on that app.
If you need RouteConverter itself on the road
A Windows tablet or a small laptop runs RouteConverter; a forum user ran it on a Windows 8 tablet with USB. The downloads page lists the supported systems.
