Completing a flight plan

Garmin flight plans need details per waypoint that most GPS formats do not carry. This dialog collects them before the file is written.

What it does

Open the dialog with Extras → Complete Flight Plan…. It walks through every waypoint in the flight plan to collect the required details.

Walk the waypoints

Position: shows which waypoint is being edited, as n out of m. Previous and Next step through the list, and on the last waypoint Next reads Finish instead.

Fill in the details

Every waypoint needs all four, and Next stays disabled until they are valid:

• Identifier:
• Country code:
• Waypoint type:
• Comment:

None of them is optional — a blank comment blocks the button just like a blank identifier does. Fields that are not yet valid are marked with a red border.

Waypoint types and the country code

The waypoint type list is the one the flight-plan format defines. The type also decides what the country code must be: an airport needs a country code, a user waypoint must leave it empty, and the remaining types need one. If Next will not enable, that pairing is usually why.

When it appears

The dialog is part of preparing a flight plan for export. It is not a general editing tool.
