Opel Navi 600/900 (.poi)
A .poi file is a custom point-of-interest list for Opel's (and, as Vauxhall, the same hardware under that badge) Navi 600 and Navi 900 built-in infotainment navigation systems.
At a glance
| Extension | .poi |
| Encoding | text |
| By | Opel Automobile GmbH |
Where it is used
Loaded from a USB stick by the Navi 600/900 head unit: the system reads any .poi files placed in a "myPOIs" folder on a FAT-formatted USB drive to import custom points of interest such as speed-camera locations or personal destinations, alongside the factory map data.
Structure
A plain-text, comma-separated line per point: longitude, latitude, then three double-quoted fields for name, an extra description line and a phone number.
How widespread
The Navi 600 and Navi 900 systems were fitted across Opel/Vauxhall model years from around 2010 onward; owner communities still actively use and document the .poi import path for these units.
