Why do I need API Keys?

Google tracks the usage of their services via the API Keys and wants to make earn money from the most active users.

Google's servers used to answer every request. Then, query limits were applied, which initially applied to IP addresses and then to API keys. Since July 2018, billing information for API Keys must be stored. Since I do not want to pay for all RouteConverter users, I have not provided any information and Google is gradually silencing the API Keys.

With an API Key, Google's servers deliver the JavaScript API and answer queries to the APIs used by RouteConverter.
