About Google Timeline (.json)
Google Timeline's on-device export (location-history.json on iPhone, Timeline.json on Android) is a time-stamped list of visited places and path segments from Google Maps' Timeline — Google retired the older cloud-side Takeout export in 2024. Exported from the Google Maps app on your phone (see Google Maps Timeline exports for the exact steps); RouteConverter only reads it — Google's own apps never read this export back in.
