Routing Services

RouteConverter uses internal and external routing services to display a route between GPS positions. The route is displayed in the map if the type is set to Route:

Position list has type Route

The following routing services exist in the OpenSource Edition:

  • BRouter
  • GraphHopper

The following routing service exists in the Google Edition:

  • Google Maps

Open Source Edition

BRouter and GraphHopper do not support the full range of options that RouteConverter supports. Thus some routing options are visible but disabled. Both routing services require routing data to be downloaded before they deliver results. Please check the FAQ for details.

Google Edition

Google Maps requires an Internet connection and is only available in the RouteConverter Google Edition. It's a fast, reliable and rather sophisticated routing service that is optimized to deliver the best results for the moment when it receives a request. And it requires an API Key.
