Position list with details

The position list displays the details of the GPS data of all positions. By default the description, longitude, latitude and elevation data of a position are shown. Additional columns are available via the menu:

Another option is a context menu that is available via a right click on the header of the position list:

Position list head columns

By dragging and dropping the column headers, another order of the columns can be established. Dragging the separators between columns allows to provide more space for a column. All modifications of the user are restored upon the next start of RouteConverter.

To modify the data, double click into the cells of the position list and type in new data. Or choose one of the various operations in the Edit, Position and Position list menu. These most common operations are available via a right click on the position list:

Position list operations

These operations from the menu allow to

  • cut, copy and paste positions within one or more position lists
  • select all the positions of a position list
  • insert or delete positions
  • find GPS positions for a given name (geocoding)
  • complete positions with coordinates, elevation, postal address, populated place from external services
  • calculate the speed from time and distance
  • number positions
  • split or merge position lists
  • import a file with additional GPS data into the current position list

When reworking tracks the operations to complete positions with coordinates, elevation, postal address, populated place from external services are especially interesting:

A left click on the position list selects a position in the position list, the map and the elevation and speed profile. This helps to keep an eye on the position in the different views.
