<Automatic> is the best choice unless you know, what differentiates the elevation services. It queries offline services with best accuracy and highest data quality first and tries to find a result.
geonames.org and Google Maps are marked as (online) since they require an Internet connection. Google Maps is only available in the RouteConverter Online Edition. All other services are available in both editions.
All online services limit the usage of their service:
- geonames.org limits the number of requests per user to 2000 credits per hour and 30000 per day. A a request costs 0.1 to 0.3 credits. By default the account routeconverter is used which is shared among all RouteConverter users but you could setup an own account via the hidden features
- Google Maps limits the number of elevation requests to 2500 per 24 hours per IP address
